New Facebook Pages Manager app released
Last week was a busy one for Facebook with its IPO and founder Mark Zuckerberg getting married to Priscilla Chan. Facebook also found the time to release a new app. If you’ve struggled to update Pages when on the move you’ll be interested in Facebook Pages Manager, an app for iPhone which also runs on iPad. There’s no word on Android or Blackberry versions yet.
The new Facebook Pages Manager app has a similar look and feel to the main Facebook app and allows you to easily administer multiple Pages. I’m finding the notifications handy which let you know when a Page has received comments and likes. For several months now notifications of comments on Pages through facebook.com have been a bit patchy.
You can switch notifications through the app on and off for any Page your administer by going to Edit Page/Your Settings/Pages Manager Mobile Notifications.
The app makes it easy to post updates and photos and you can even view a snapshot of Facebook Insights although you don’t get the full functionality. You can also view Page Admins although you can’t manage them.
Overall, it’s a useful app when you’re out and about and hopefully more functionality and apps for different platforms will be launched soon.
